Headline says it all for this one. The footage comes from the Igromir Game Expo, which takes place in Moscow every November. I've never heard of it, but evidently its the biggest game expo in Eastern Europe.

I've only played an hours worth of Dragon Age so I'm leaving it up to you guys to discuss the changes you see. The full five minutes have plenty of action in them so I'm sure there's plenty in there to pick apart and judge.

Judging: it's what the internet is good for.

+ Exclusive: New Bandage character for Super Meat Boy PC By Admin 07 November 2010 at 1:15 am and have No Comments

So, in case you missed it, we did a charity live stream of Super Meat Boy today on Public Access Destructoid's channel on Justin.tv. We planned on doing it for just a few hours, but then we ended up going all day and into the night. We helped raise $2,000, and we're all incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed.

That said, it's still not too late to donate. Here's how the charity works. Danny B., (the composer for Super Meat Boy), is donating the proceeds from the soundtracks that he sells this weekend to Multiple Sclerosis research. Danny's sister Christy (seen above) suffers from MS, so this whole thing is very personal, both for Danny and for us at Dtoid.

I'm so overwhelmed by the whole experience that I almost forgot to tell you the news part of this news post. Edmund McMillen (co-creator of Super Meat Boy) promised that once we got to $2,000, that he'd reveal an new character for the PC version of Super Meat Boy. Hit for the character reveal, and a little description of who they are and how they'll be implemented in the game.

It's Captain Viridian from VVVVVV!

There's no news yet on exactly how the Captain will play in the game, but I bet his gravity flipping ways will be involved in some way. If you haven't checked the game out, you should do so ASAP. There is a free demo available through the game's official site. It's incredibly clever and fun to play.

Edmund also told us that the creator of VVVVVV is making some special VVVVVV themed levels for Super Meat Boy PC. I'm 99% sure that I heard Edmund say that these levels will be made with the game's PC exclusive level editor, but don't quote me on that. I'm sure we'll be hearing more from Edmund about it soon.

Also news; it sucks to have your armpit licked by strange man.

+ The God of War level that never was By Admin 07 November 2010 at 12:00 am and have No Comments

Here you will find a video detailing the lost Atlantis level from God of War II. This is simultaneously the most awesome and most depressing thing ever. It's awesome because it looks really cool, and it's depressing because we'll never get to play it.

Senior Level Designer on God of War II Jonathan Hawkins was told to develop a level for the game based on Atlantis. From the video above it appears he poured a good chunk of his time and effort into it, and then it was cut. That has got to hurt.

Thankfully, a lot of Hawkins's designs went into the final game and there is an Atlantis level in God of War: Ghost of Sparta, but it still doesn't make you any happier that we missed out on this.

Infinity Blade (formerly Project Sword) is the iOS RPG from Chair and Epic Games and right above we have a new trailer for it. It gives us our first look at the touchscreen friendly RPG. As you can see you'll be slicking and dicing with a swipe of your finger. Also as you can see it looks damn gorgeous.

Along with the video came a few more details on the game. We now know that there will be further support for the game with DLC. The DLC will include a multiplayer mode, new weapons, environments and bosses. It's clear from the release that the bosses in the game are going to be a big focus, which sounds awesome for a portable game. Nothing like taking on an epic boss in the middle of your metro ride.

+ ZeniMax pickes up Machinegames By Admin 06 November 2010 at 2:00 pm and have No Comments

Zenimax-pickes-up-machinegames-header

ZeniMax, the parent company of Bethesda Games, is becoming quite the little powerhouse of game developers. Not only do they own a few prominent developers, but the also recently acquired Shinji Mikami's studio Tango Gameworks a few months ago. Now add to that list one more developer, Machinegames, which is run by veterans from The Chronicles of Riddick developer Starbreeze Studios.

The deal doesn't seem to have been officially officially confirmed, but a previous tweet hinted at it and now Swedish business records are showing that Machinegames has officially filed to change its name to ZeniMax Sweden AB. Furthermore ZeniMax got an infusion of $150 million a month ago for increased growth and acquisitions. I would say buying a game developer falls into that category, wouldn't you?

Now, what do you think we'll get out of ZeniMax Sweden?

+ Go behind the music with GoldenEye 007 By Admin 06 November 2010 at 11:00 am and have No Comments

I'm in the  midst of tearing through GoldenEye 007 so that we can get a review up for you and you can finally know exactly what to think about the game (please, please pick up on the sarcasm there), but until then here is a video discussing the music in the game.

If you've played through the game you know that there's actually a cover of GoldenEye and a new opening sequence, which is cool. But more importantly they've done a full score for the game and in fact in one really well done sequence the music does some very cool stuff. I won't ruin it here — saving that for the review — but it's definitely clear they dumped some effort into making the music work with the game.

As for the cover of GoldenEye, one of the best Bond songs ever, it's no Tina Turner, but she does a pretty solid job.

+ Game Informer December cover art is pretty neato By Admin 06 November 2010 at 9:00 am and have No Comments

Game-informer-december-cover-art-is-pretty-neato-header

Looks like Game Informer has been reading Destructoid's Monthly Review Round-up. See for their December issue they will be listing the top 30 characters of the past decade. To celebrate this they had artist Sam Spratt do an epic piece of artwork featuring all of the characters. That's just like what we do for the Review Round-up except on a much larger scale. Plagiarism I tell you!

The art is being broken up into three collectible covers, but Game Informer also says that they will soon be sharing info on how you can get it in sexy poster form.

If you ask me I don't think I'd want it hanging on my wall. I'm not a fan of the art style at all, and it has a weird Dogs Playing Poker feeling to it and is definitely an homage to those strange murals you see with a bunch of dead famous people sitting around at a bar. I hate those. If those are your cup of tea, though, this is quite the piece.

December Cover Revealed [Game Informer]

Oh, I suppose there's some debate here on their character selection as well. Have at it.
