Ntreev’s digital crack RPG golf game Pangya is currently entering its fourth season, and along with tons of new features and systems, it’s got some new characters as well. Thankfully, however, they haven’t neglected to bring back some familiar faces, like my favorite caddy, Papel.
Additionally, the new Gacha system we recently told you about got its first set of items this week, as well as Gacha coin packages. As always, you can sign up and play Pangya for free, with only the fancy extras actually costing anything. The PSp version was insanely fun and I can’t imagine this new season of the PC original being anything less, but if you want to find out for sure, Dale North will be bringing you a full review of the game very soon.
Keep an eye out for that, and in the meantime hit the gallery for a look at the new characters, who have completely customizable outfits if you don’t like what you see them in here.

After months of speculation and rumors, a video spotted via Wired has finally confirmed that, yes, Microsoft’s Zune HD will be a portable gaming device.
The video above states right there in plain Englay at 32 seconds in, "Play games." A Microsoft representative tells Wired that a handful of titles will be available right from the start when the device launches today. Gizmodo reports some of the first to be Project Gotham Racing: Ferrari Edition, Vans Sk8: Pool Service and AudioSurf Tilt.
This and a few other clips touting the Zune HD’s new features were apparently leaked over the weekend and then promptly snatched away again at the request of Microsoft. No point in keeping secrets now, as it’s hitting retail shelves as I type this. On top of games and HD Radio compatibility, the device also boasts Xbox 360 integration, with the ability to play HD video downloaded from Xbox Live.
No word yet on whether any of your XBLA titles will work on this thing, but given its touch screen interface it’s safe to say the iPhone may have something to worry about. We’ll keep you posted as further information rolls in. Hooray?
Ever since we got our first look at From Software’s 3D Dot Game Heroes, the general sentiment has been that we love the way it looks, but we’re all dying to see some actual video. Well, today you can rejoice, for I have brought you … a thing.
That thing is a new trailer, giving us our first look at the game in motion. We knew 3D Dot Game Heroes was going to be very Zelda-like, and as you can see above, that’s true not just in terms of weapons but also in its music and the way it moves. In fact, it quite literally looks like a sprite game in 3D, right down to its hoppity character animation.
I’m not sure what else I expected after weeks of seeing screenshots, but I’m still impressed with just how well it captures the classic retro feel of the games it pays homage to. Watching enemies explode into clouds of tiny blocks has me hoping ever harder that this one comes stateside. Take a look for yourself and let us know what you think.

On its way to arcades this Winter is King of Fighters: Sky Stage, a new vertical shooter from SNK Playmore. The game features flying KOF characters, each with unique capabilit … wait, what?
Apparently announced at Microsoft’s Spring media briefing, this one flew entirely under my radar; ghastly pun not intended. Sky Stage was initially planned as an Xbox 360 title, and while there’s no new word on that yet, Andriasang reports today that the game will be playable in Taito’s booth at this year’s Amusement Machine Show in Japan. The event is open to the public on September 17th and 19th.
Again, what? We’ll keep you updated if there’s any word on a 360 release, be it Japan-only or otherwise. Until then, check out a couple of screnshots below and head over to the game’s official website for, among other things, a picture of Kyo circa KOF 2002 hanging in mid-air. Yeah.

Don’t everybody go crazy. This is still in fetal rumor form at the moment, but a post on the Shoryuken.com forums has pointed out that Capcom’s Japanese character site for Tatsunoko Vs Capcom may have the game’s entire roster listed in its source code.
We checked, and at the time this post was written, it’s there. The page shows only a few character images, but a Javascript function in the HTML code lists button images for the rest of the confirmed cast, as well as a few extras. One of them being Tatsunoko’s Tekkaman Blade, which the character site itself is already showing as confirmed. The other ones?

Allegedly, Mega Man Zero, Yatterman #2, Joe Asakura from Gatchaman, and Frank West from Dead Rising.
Again, nobody from Capcom has said a word on this, so it’s still just speculation at this point. But the names are right there, alongside "morigan.jpg" and "veutifu.jpg," so it’s not entirely unlikely that this is exactly what we’ll be hearing when Capcom finally announces the new characters officially. There also exists the possibility that they’ve put these there on purpose just to throw everyone off, so do keep that in mind as well.
That said, I would just like to state for the record, F*CK YEAH FRANK WEST.
As expected, word of a Raystorm remake coming to XBLA and PSN has turned out to be very true, and Famitsu has come through with the first video of the game in motion. The trailer was shown at an STG event in Japan over the weekend, understandably to much fanfare.
Check it out after the jump to get a look at the ships, system and some of the enemies and bosses you’ll be facing off against. While the game itself is in delicious high-def, the trailer unfortunately is not, so you’ll have to use your imagination a bit. Still, it’s looking mighty fine to me, and I’m excited for this to finally hit both digital marketplaces. And if you didn’t catch it the first time, yes — Raystorm HD will indeed be coming to PSN as well as XBLA.
Destructoid turns four next year. That’s ridiculous. Surely we should be either bankrupt or lecherous sellouts by now, right? Somehow we’re still here by no small contribution of Dtoid’s plucky editors and more importantly our community. We’re here because Google says 1.4 million people read us each month for some reason.
What the hell is wrong with you people?
So how did we get here, you ask? Well, there’s about 16 editors across various cities so when we alternate robbing convenience stores its much harder to track. There’s also the fact that there’s nothing else in the world I’d rather be doing right now than listening to the F-Zero soundtrack while drinking the uncarbonated remains of last night’s midnight Taco Bell soda. If you’re curious about what motivated me to start the site I did an unflattering interview with the folks at The Gamer Studio about the site’s early influences and how you too can become an abusive husband at your trade. The article exposes me for the hack publisher/web designer/writer/human being that I am, which is important for you to know if we’re going to continue being Internet friends.
Some critics of Destructoid may not appreciate our granola success and have even come to attack my under qualifications, and that’s OK. For them I offer them this answer: I’m having a lot of fun learning what to do along the way, but my immediate Saturday plan to beef up my journalistic acumen is to watch Muppets in Space. That’s the one where Moses tells Gonzo that he’s doomed and kicks him off the arc, I think.
There have been rumblings as of late, regarding something called "Okamiden," which Siliconera first discovered upon poking through some of Capcom’s trademarks. The company was found to own the rights to the word, and the popular belief and/or hope is that it could be an Okami sequel. "OMG what else could it be!?" you might ask.
Well, thanks to 7-Eleven (of all places) we’re about to find out next week. Andriasang reports that the company’s e-commerce site shows a listing for the upcoming September 17th issue of Famitsu, (which hits newsstands on September 3rd), with the contents of said issue marked only as "Okamiden."
With Clover studios sadly out of the picture, it’s hard to jump right on this and declare that it absolutely must be a new Okami title, especially since the word "Okami" itself is not altogether uncommon. It sure would be nice though, wouldn’t it? Looks like we’ll find out for sure on Septmber 3rd, and we’ll let you know regardless.
